Pink Power at Bai Hotel Cebu: A Night of Compassion, Courage, and Community with our Wellness Ambassador- Thea Martha Yneza B

October carries a soft glow, a month painted in shades of pink and wrapped in stories of courage and healing. This year, that glow reached all the way to Cebu, where our Wellness Ambassador represented Uganda at Bai Hotel’s “Pink Power” event; a celebration of hope, awareness, and community in honour of Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

“As a Miss Asia Pacific International contestant representing Uganda, I’ve attended many events and causes back home,” she shared. “But there was something deeply special about this one. It wasn’t just about pink, it was about what the colour stood for: strength, survival, and sisterhood.”

The Pink Glow of Compassion

From the moment she walked through Bai Hotel’s elegant lobby, she was met by a warm, welcoming sea of pink. A floral display framed the words “Pink Power – Breast Cancer Awareness Month” a perfect reminder of why everyone was gathered there.

Standing proudly in her pink outfit and sash, she joined guests at the “Dine, Snap & Save” photo box; a creative campaign inviting participants to take a photo, share it online, and receive a 50% discount on their next visit. “Beyond the discount,” she reflected, “it was a clever way to turn social media engagement into advocacy. Every photo shared helped spread awareness, one story at a time.”

Pinktober at Bai: More Than a Campaign

What impressed her most was the depth of Bai Hotel Cebu’s Pinktober initiative, a month-long effort with heart and intention.

There was Dine for a Cause at CAFE Bai, led by Chef Gleena Arnuco, herself a breast cancer survivor. Knowing that the food was prepared by someone who had lived that journey made every bite more meaningful. Part of the proceeds went to the ICANSERVE Foundation, supporting patients and survivors in Cebu.

The hotel also hosted Pink Talks for education and open dialogue, Pink Treats through themed pastries and drinks, and a Charm Bar where guests designed keepsakes of hope. Each initiative carried the same heartbeat: awareness through connection.

“As I listened to the stories of survivors and advocates, I was reminded that health, love, and empathy know no borders,” she said. “Whether in Uganda, the Philippines, or anywhere in the world, the fight against breast cancer belongs to all of us.”

A Reflection from Our Wellness Ambassador

For her, the evening wasn’t just an event, it was a reaffirmation of purpose.

“Even though I’m not a breast cancer survivor, that night reminded me that advocacy is about empathy and action,” she reflected. “It’s about showing up, sharing knowledge, and creating ripples of hope in every community.”

As our Wellness Ambassador, her presence embodied the mission we hold close, to champion holistic wellbeing, inspire healthy lifestyles, and amplify women’s voices across borders.

A Final Note of Gratitude

To Bai Hotel Cebu; thank you for creating a space where awareness meets artistry and compassion meets community. For transforming hospitality into advocacy, and for reminding us that the fight against breast cancer is not just about survival, it’s about solidarity.

And to every woman reading this, whether you are a queen, a student, a mother, or a friend, let this be your reminder to care for your health, to schedule your screenings, and to reach out to someone who may need your encouragement today.

Because Pink Power is not just a theme.

It’s a movement.

And it begins with us.
