By Wellness With Her | Affirm Your Money Series – July
Money. It slips through our fingers, it builds empires, it fuels dreams, it sparks fear, desire, obsession, and celebration. It’s a daily reality, but also a deeply energetic experience. In our Affirm Your Money challenge this July, we explore not just how we relate to money but how we feel money. And that brings us to an important question:
Is money feminine or masculine?
Money Is Energy
Before we assign gender, we must remember: money is energy. It flows, stagnates, accumulates, transforms. It has the ability to build or destroy. Like all energy, how it’s handled, directed, or honoured determines its role in our lives.
In spiritual and metaphysical spaces, money is often discussed not just as a currency, but as a vibration, a frequency. In this sense, how we think and feel about money plays a role in how money shows up for us.
Feminine vs. Masculine Energy: A Quick Recap
We’re not talking about gender here but energetic archetypes that exist in all of us, regardless of gender identity.
- Masculine energy is structured, assertive, directional. It’s about doing, building, acting, protecting, organising, achieving.
- Feminine energy is intuitive, receptive, nurturing, creative. It’s about flowing, feeling, magnetising, trusting, surrendering.
In a healthy energetic system, both coexist and support each other like left and right legs walking forward.
🧭 So… Which One Is Money?
Here’s the paradox: money is both.
- When we chase, track, and build money systems, we’re using masculine energy; structure, accountability, focus, investment, discipline.
- But when we receive, attract, feel worthy of money, and flow with the abundance we’ve created, we’re engaging feminine energy; trust, value, openness, alignment.
Many of us, especially women, have been taught to fear money or to manage it from a masculine-dominated perspective that says: control more, work harder, don’t stop. But when we reconnect to money as an energy that can also flow through feminine channels like intuition, pleasure, receptivity, magnetism; everything shifts.
The Imbalance: When Money Feels Unsafe
For generations, money has often been controlled or weaponized in patriarchal systems. In these systems:
- Money is power.
- Money is control.
- Money is gatekept.
- Money is earned through burnout.
This masculine-dominant model forgets the feminine essence of abundance: enough-ness, ease, and flow.
When we are constantly in “doing” mode, we disconnect from the part of ourselves that allows. That’s why many women say things like:
“I don’t know how to ask for more.”
“I feel guilty spending on myself.”
“I attract money but I can’t hold onto it.”
“I don’t feel confident managing my finances.”
These are not just financial issues; they are energetic ones.
Rewriting the Script: Healing Our Money Energy
To affirm your money means to rewrite your money energy narrative.
Here are ways to balance the masculine and feminine relationship with money:
1. Masculine Energy Practices
- Set a clear budget and track spending.
- Build a savings and investment plan.
- Set financial goals with deadlines.
- Negotiate your worth; ask for that raise.
- Take ownership of your financial decisions.
2. Feminine Energy Practices
- Practice affirmations like “I am safe to receive.”
- Visualise your abundant future; what does it feel like?
- Create a sacred space for money; journal, pray, light a candle as you plan.
- Infuse joy and intention into how you spend.
- Rest. Your worth is not tied to how hard you hustle.
So, What’s the Answer?
Money is neither masculine nor feminine but how you relate to it can be.
To build true wealth, you must balance both:
- The discipline of showing up for your finances…
- And the softness of allowing abundance to flow without fear.
You don’t just earn money, you become the kind of person who attracts and holds it with clarity, grace, and responsibility.
Final Thought
When we say Affirm Your Money, we’re not just saying “make more.”
We’re saying: honour your energy in the way you earn, spend, give, and save.
Money doesn’t respond to fear. It responds to clarity, love, and intention.
So ask yourself today:
“Is my relationship with money chasing or attracting?”
“Am I punishing myself for desiring more?”
“What would it look like to bring softness into my finances?”
Because maybe the richest thing you can do… is honour both the builder and the receiver within you.
Be well. Be you. Be abundant.
Affirm Your Life continues all July. Let’s redefine our relationship with wealth together.
