In a powerful and transformative collaboration, Wellness With Her Club joined hands with the Rotaract Club of Kampala East to deliver a movement-based workshop focused on stress management and holistic well-being. The workshop, held at Hotel Africana Kampala, was an eye-opening experience for participants and an important step toward raising awareness around mental health and conscious wellbeing particularly in Uganda’s youth and professional communities.

With Uganda currently ranked as the second most stressed workforce in Africa (after Chad), initiatives like this could not come at a more urgent time. The session, co-programmed by the two organisations, sought to provide practical, embodied solutions to this rising crisis, using intentional movement and breathwork as tools for stress release, emotional grounding, and mental clarity.
The workshop, led by facilitators from Wato Movement, the movement arm of the Wellness With Her Club, introduced participants to somatic practices and expressive movement, anchored in the belief that the body holds the key to healing, especially from chronic stress and emotional fatigue. The highly interactive session helped attendees reconnect with their bodies, process internal tension, and build resilience through rhythm, motion, and reflection.
“This was not just a dance class. This was a safe, powerful space where we remembered that our bodies can speak — and heal,” said one of the attendees.

In a society where mental health is still battling stigma, the workshop offered a fresh and much-needed approach, especially for young Ugandans navigating high-pressure environments. The response was overwhelmingly positive, with many participants expressing a desire for more sessions like this that bridge movement, mindfulness, and community support.
Recognising the impact and effort of the team, the President of the Rotaract Club of Kampala East, along with his board, presented a certificate of appreciation to Wellness With Her Club, applauding their innovative approach to wellness and their dedication to empowering youth with practical life tools.
“We are proud to collaborate with a forward-thinking organisation like Wellness With Her. This partnership is exactly what our youth need in today’s fast-paced world; tools that go beyond theory and engage the heart, body, and mind,” said the Rotaract President, Mr. Owen during the presentation.
As Uganda continues to face high levels of stress-related challenges, especially among the workforce and student populations, such workshops are a vital step forward. They not only educate but empower, reminding participants that wellness is not a luxury; it’s a necessity.
Wellness With Her Club remains committed to creating safe, embodied spaces for women and youth to explore healing, growth, and personal power, one movement at a time.
