There was a TikTok comment recently that immensely warmed my heart and had our whole team “awwwing” because we felt seen and recognized for the journey we are on. The context was highlighting how more women centered spaces are cropping up and while one user asked for the same in Uganda, another responded saying, “…There is a women’s only wellness center in Uganda. It has a gym, a spa, massage center, holds dance classes. Have never seen women so happy. It’s literal heaven…. Check out Wellness With Her Club.” While we work towards that, it won’t stop us from highlighting the wellness spaces around us and we hope to make these a little fun series. Hopefully some videos will come on the way as we go along but for now, let us get this article walking.
For purposes of us being on the same page, a wellness center is a dedicated space that offers a holistic approach to health and well-being, focusing on the physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual needs of individuals. Unlike traditional gyms or spas, a wellness center integrates various healing and self-care practices to promote a balanced lifestyle.
Our beautiful country Uganda offers a massive set of options when it comes to wellness centers, each providing unique experiences to rejuvenate your mind, body, and spirit. Here’s an in-depth look at some of the wellness spa- like experiences in the country:
