Today I called a friend and admitted that I was a tad bit lazy to actually get into my goals and set the ball rolling in my life. Following the law of cause and effect, it shows that it’s important to plant the seed and nurture it while it grows and produces fruit. Depending on how well it’s been taken care of and the play of factors in the course of growth, most times, one can end up with very good fruit. So of course my friend gives me some advice concerning my situation and by the time I got off the call, I was rejuvenated.
Here are some things to remember that could definitely switch up the game when it comes to your goals for you as well;
Stop fantasizing: Having too rosy a picture of the future has one putting less effort into reaching their goals. Instead, it’s better to be open to some things going wrong. It helps with seeing the obstacles – and think through moving on from them.
Visualise process NOT outcome: If you can think through all the steps you will forge a better plan … and it will also help to reduce anxiety, but always visualising the outcome also puts one in a position where they subconsciously relax knowing they already have their result.
Beware of the “what-the-hell effect”: Too many just give up when they stumble or fall down. It’s better to get up – and to see it as a journey. Continuity and change are all part and parcel of Life so accepting this makes it easier.
Attack procrastination: It’s easy to procrastinate when things start getting tough. Make a start, keep your head down, and set yourself deadlines. Once you start you’ll feel much better, and the road won’t seem so hard.
Switch out of robot mode: A lot of behaviour is robotic and habitual. We copy other people, or we do the same old things. Take stock, and change those patterns, if they don’t lead to your goals.

And most importantly, get a spiritual practice into the mix. We can’t do this life thing alone and we need to always feel divinely supported, connected and loved in order to fully embody the grace we feel.
